I’m Sorry, She Gets What?

Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader Prime Minister, Helen Clark in her glory and magnificence has righteously been given by the great underlings of power parliamentary committee the right to conduct three yearly reviews on who is considered a terrorist instead of the High Court.

Yes, yes, you read that right. The Prime Minister and not, say, a group of experts who understand the intricacies of the law and are, well, relatively neutral to the persuasions of political pressures such as, I don’t know, needing to stay in power, has the power to declare some organisations, who aren’t already deemed by the UN as terrorists, as terrorists.

Obviously it makes sense to give all of this power to one person … er … as they will have access to information that the lawkeepers don’t, because of the SIS … and the Prime Minister has to report back to the SIS in cases of renewal … and other agencies … oh wait, no, no they don’t. They just report to each other … the SIS and the Prime Minister …

Oh well, that’s all right then, with such checks and balances there can’t be any chance of abusing the system …
